Containers into Mombasa

The most economical option for larger and heavier consignments. We coordinate container shipping into Mombasa, then arrange clearance and onward transport by rail or road.

Shipping options

  • Full Container Load (FCL): a whole container for your goods. Sizes: 20-foot, 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube.
  • Less-than-Container Load (LCL): share container space with other shipments and pay by volume in cubic metres (CBM).
  • Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo): for vehicles and machinery that are driven on and off the ship.
  • Onward transport from Mombasa, including rail to the Nairobi Inland Container Depot where applicable.

FCL or LCL?

S

Small volumesUsually LCL. You pay only for the space you use.

M

Medium volumesCompare the LCL price with a 20-foot container. We'll show you both.

L

Large volumesUsually FCL. Your goods travel sealed in their own container.

Indicative sea transit from China is about 22–30 days port to port. Sailing schedules, handling, customs and delivery affect the total time.
